Blending cutting-edge technology with a commitment to environmental stewardship, Powershop has a keen focus on educating and empowering consumers. They believe it’s in everybody’s interests to understand the complexities of delivering clean energy to the grid.
In partnership with Meridian Energy, Powershop embarked on a visionary quest to revolutionize the way we generate and manage energy, through improved algorithms for wind forecasting modeling.
Our challenge was to transform the results of this project into a captivating digital experience that was not only informative and functional, but also highly engaging. The outcome was an innovative fusion of education, functionality and storytelling.

ART DIRECTION AND ILLUSTRATION STYLE:
Design that captivates and engages was at the heart of this project, as we sought to push the boundaries of conventional website design and present the information in a more dynamic and imaginative way. The core assets of the project were given a distinct identity, brought to life with vivid three-dimensional features and enriched with a raw, grainy texture that added depth and a sense of tactility. The result was a visual feast that not only conveyed the essence of the project, but also fostered a deeper connection to its purpose.
INTERACTIVE HERO MODEL:
At the center of the site stood the interactive hero module, designed to seize the viewer's attention. Here, we brought to life two vivid scenes showcasing wind farm locations owned by Meridian Energy, inviting users to interact and discover the latest readings from each location with a simple hover.
Adding an extra layer of excitement, we incorporated time-of-day interactions that dynamically changed based on the time of day and sprinkled in delightful animation easter eggs throughout the user journey.
